Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2013

July 2013

The Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2013 (the “Act”) was signed into law by the President on 25 July 2013.  The Act provides that certain statutory provisions will continue to apply to pre-December, 2009, mortgages notwithstanding the repeal or amendment of those statutory provisions by the Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2009.  The Act also will also require that possession actions in respect of principal private residences will almost always now have to be taken in the local Circuit Court rather than in the High Court.
